Belbroughton Scarecrow Festival
Hello and a very warm welcome to the 21st Year or Belbroughton Scarecrow Festival. We believe ours is the biggest Scarecrow Festival in the World and we're looking to get that record verified!
We had over 100 entrants to our theme completion and no fewer than 16 suggested ideas around the literary theme. Roald Dahl, and Beartrix Potter both celebrate key memorials this year and we had to draw a luck winner from the hat for our chosen theme of ABC - Authors, Books and Characters. What a brilliant scope for creativity - can't wait to see them.
This year? Well it's more of what we know you like as we continue our journey back to basics, concentrating on providing a safe and family focused day out which is great value but continuing our focus on the Scarecrows. There will be a significant change to the traffic management this year so please plan your journey and please please please DON'T plan to drive through the village - you will be met by a significantly increased traffic management presence who will guide you to one of the designated safe parking areas.
Remember you don't need to be a resident of the village to build a scarecrow and enter it into our competition! Last year the standard in the 'out of village' category was amazing.
If you look at the calendar of events there's some cool stuff, including a Knight School and loads of bands and local artists.
We now boast one of the largest displays of classic cars in the midlands and If you've got a classic car and you want display it - get in touch.
Based on the feedback from last year we will be providing more food, more drinks, more toilets and baby changing facilities as well as the fantastically priced exclusive scarecrow mechandise.
Finally, let's not forget the quite incredible Rich Goodwin Airshow - now a regular feature of our festival and he's booked and raring to go on both Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
I hope you can get the date in your calendar now (24th and 25th September 2016) and I look forward to seeing you at the end of September.
Keep checking back on Facebook for regular updates.
