Holy Trinity Church in Belbroughton

This year we do not have a Flower Festival but there will be flowers in Church.

Again there will be an Art Exhibition with work by the Hagley Art Club. Paintings will be on sale.

Exhibition of local history by Belbroughton History Society.

Each afternoon there will be church services.

On Saturday at 3.30 Scarecrow Praise (our Songs of Praise.), and on Sunday at 3.30 Choral Evensong with the Belbroughton and Fairfield Church Choir.

Before the Services watch the Bellringers ringing all six bells in a variety of ways.

During the day Bellringers will also show you how you can chime a church bell, and will be taking tower tours up the 69 steps to the top where you can see the whole village and surrounding countryside.

The Thursfield singers will be performing a variety of choral music, and there will be Organ music and an opportunity to play.

While you are in the church take a good look around as it is an interesting building which has been the centre for worship for hundreds of years. Even before the Norman Conquest when Lady Godiva was Lord of the village there was a church and a priest. The present building dates from the 1300s with alterations over the years and a major extension in 1895.

This year we are using our share of the Scarecrow money for running the church and essential improvements especially any shortfall in the cost of repairing the spire damaged in the gales in January. Our next major project is to build toilets so that the church can be used for more concerts and events as well as the regular Sunday worship.

Most Sundays we have a service at 11.15 in the morning. Once a month on the Third Sunday of the month it is a special Family Service, but children are welcome at all services and suitable activities are provided for them.
